Camp
meetings are an integral part of our Apostolic Faith church heritage.
Over the years, these annual sessions have established a bond between
our members around the world. We look back over a history of camp
meetings spanning over nine decades.
Every year, during the first two weeks in
July, we hold our international camp-meeting convention at our headquarters
in Portland, Oregon. The campground is an eleven-acre plot of land
nestled in a stand of fir trees at the corner of Southeast 52nd
and Duke Streets. Many believers from the United States and foreign
countries come here to enjoy an old-fashioned camp meeting and find
it a refreshing and spiritually challenging time. |
Inspiring music, personal
testimonies, and Bible-based sermons make up the camp meeting services.
Each service concludes with a time of prayer, where people pray
together at the altar benches lining the front of our large tabernacle
auditorium. Over the years, thousands of lives have been transformed
through prayer at these altars.
Countless
others have responded to the call for a deeper walk with the Lord.
The daily
schedule of services includes Bible teachings, youth services, evangelistic
meetings, and many oth er
activities. A long-standing Portland tradition, the midsummer concert,
takes place on the first Monday night. Our orchestra, choirs, ensembles,
and soloists present an evening of music, performing classical and
spiritual renditions. This free event is always a highlight of the
camp meeting.
Our campground
restaurant provides meals at a reasonable price for the convenience
of the campers, and kitchenette facilities are located throughout
the grounds for those who prefer to prepare their own meals.
As our work has expanded
in the United States and internationally, camp meetings in other
locations have been instituted. Please review our list of locations
