We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. – Hebrews 8:1
"Where is Jesus?” Those were the words I heard several years ago as we were preparing for our Christmas Pageant. The church nativity scene that graced the front yard of the church each year had a life-sized figure representing Baby Jesus. During the year, the scene was supposed to be stored in the church attic, but on this particular year, someone had misplaced some of the scenery, including the doll that symbolized Jesus. The figure of Baby Jesus was eventually found and became a part of the scene once more, but I never forgot the moment.
To those who read the Bible, it is no secret where the real Jesus is. He is “set on the right hand of the throne” of the Father in Heaven. He is there because He is our High Priest and He represents us before the Father, ever living to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25). In fact, He is the only Mediator between God and man; no one else could fill that position. The scars in His hands and feet and the wound in His side are the credentials that satisfy divine justice and allow us to be worthy to approach God.
It is important that we know where Jesus is! And after we know that, every now and then it is good to remind ourselves of where Jesus is. Even during the Christmas season, when we put great effort into celebrating the Savior’s birth, it is possible to forget the reason we are doing it all. Jesus came as a Baby, lived without sin, died sacrificially for us, rose again, and is now seated in Heaven to make intercession before the Father on our behalf. What a wonderful gift God has given us! He is the answer for all of our needs.
If you have a problem today, bring it to Jesus. He is seated by the Father, ready to make intercession for you, and He is only a prayer away.
