Let's Meet Sunday School Teacher: Cindie Baltzell

Sunday school is the place to be! We know this because Junior Department student, Arielle Chasteen, spends her Sunday mornings there and wants to tell us all about it!

Arielle really enjoys singing songs and learning from object lessons. When it is time to go to class, Cindie Baltzell, her Junior Department Sunday school teacher, gathers the students to begin the class. Arielle enjoys the class because Cindie uses object lessons or has some way to help students understand the lesson. Arielle remembers a recent lesson about Jonathan and David, "That taught me a lot about being a good friend."

Arielle is not the only one who enjoys the Sunday school class; Cindie does too! She tells us, "Meeting new kids and being able to share my best friend, Jesus, with them is very exciting for me. My favorite part is when I can see in my students eyes that they know that Jesus is real, and can be with then every single day."

When Cindie was six years old she was afraid that her parents were going to go to Heaven, and she would not. She was raised in a Christian home and had gone to Sunday school, so she knew what she needed to do next. She knelt at an altar and prayed. Jesus came into her heart and forgave her for all of her sins. As she grew up she followed the Lord's direction and has drawn very close to Him. She married Randy Baltzell, who is now the pastor of our Roseburg church. She has three children, Kylie, Austin, and Hyden. Today, Cindie wants everybody to know that, "Jesus is my very best friend."

Next time you are in the area, visit the Roseburg Sunday school, they would be so happy to see you!
