Friday Evening Service

Prelude: A guitar/banjo trio (pictured above) consisting of Michael McCarville, Matt Hanson, and Andrea Gaston played a number of songs including “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” “In the Sweet By and By,” “Life’s Railway to Heaven,” and “Jesus Paid it All.”

Testimony: Matt Hanson told how he was raised in a home where he went to church often, but he did not know about salvation. After he finished college, he learned that Jesus could save, help one live above sin, and give peace and the hope of Heaven. He is thankful Jesus did that for him.

Special: Peter, Laura, and Julia Moberg sang “He’s Everything.”

Testimony: Amy Patan shared that when her son was born seven years ago, just a few hours after birth he started having trouble breathing. An x-ray showed a problem in his lungs and that he needed to have a chest tube put in right away. However, they prayed and did the x-ray again, and the problem was gone.

Special: Peter Moberg sang “O, the Passion.”

Sermon: The message was preached from Matthew 3:1-2 on the importance of repentance and why it is necessary in order to be a part of the kingdom of Heaven. The minister advised everyone not to focus on the signs of the last days, but to focus on the kingdom of God, making sure it is in their hearts. He said if it is not, they must repent and be saved.

Special: Amy Patan sang “Just As I Am.”
