Friday Evening Service
Prelude: Kristi Riler played a flute solo of “Trusting Jesus” and “A Shelter in the Time of Storm.”
Scripture Reading: From Psalm 27, Darrel Lee read verses 1, 4, 6, 8, and 13-14.
Special: Ellen and Ashley Morgan and Deborah Brenner sang “How Great the Love.”
Testimony: Ashley Morgan was thankful to be raised in a Christian home and in this church, and that as a teenager God saved her. She also gave thanks for a job that she loves, and that she can trust in God with any concern.
Special: Gary and Kristi Riler and Maria Green (pictured above) sang “What a Lovely Name.”
Testimony: Debbie Lee from Roseburg, Oregon, told how she and her high school boyfriend went to church one day because his dad was going to sing at the service. She didn’t really want to go because it was her graduation day and she wanted to celebrate, but God had something special in store for them. At the end of the service, they went to the altar and many from the congregation joined with them in prayer. God wonderfully saved them both that night, and later they were married and are still serving God together today.
Special: Ashley Morgan sang “He’s Been Faithful.”
Sermon: Harlan Lee of Roseburg preached from Matthew 13:51-52. He said spiritual treasures begin when God delivers a soul from sin, and more treasures are added as the Lord helps in times of need. Brother Harlan encouraged his listeners to get rid of whatever might hinder their spiritual investment.
Special: Gary and Kristi Riler and Maria Green sang “He’s as Close as the Mention of His name.”
