Friday Evening Service

Prelude: Marcus and Chris Luka played a trombone duet of “Day By Day” and “When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder.” Following that, Emmaline and Mikayla Worthington and Victoria Heintz sang “When God Dipped His Love in My Heart,” accompanied by Andrea Gaston on guitar and Caleb Copko on bass.

Featured Testimonies: Julianne Luka said she had been having a rough day at school, so she prayed and asked for peace, and God gave her peace and turned the whole day around. Marcus Luka was thankful God worked out a scheduling issue, helping him get into a class he really wanted at school. Nolan Roby told how he heard as a child that “when you get saved, you’ll know it,” and that’s what happened when the Lord saved him as a junior in high school. Russell Mathews spoke of attending the young men’s retreat where the leaders asked who would still be serving God twenty years from now. He stated that he not only wants to be serving God twenty years from now, but also thirty, forty, and even sixty years from now, should the Lord tarry that long.

First Special: The choir sang “Dwelling in Beulah Land.”

Last Special: Barry Morgan sang “I Present You to Jesus.”

Sermon: Bob Downey preached from Matthew 13:44-45, stressing the value of the treasures of Heaven and assuring everyone that they are available to anyone who will give up everything to receive them.
