Friday Evening Service

Prelude: Jaewon Yune played a violin solo of “Wondrous Cross (I Know Whom I have Believed)” and “When We All Get to Heaven.” The choir followed by singing “This Is the Day.”

Baby dedication for Mason Hoskin (pictured above): Dave Lambert read Matthew 19:13-15 where Jesus sanctioned the dedication of children through His example—He laid His hands on them and prayed for them. Brother Dave encouraged parents to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Then Scott and Emily brought Mason up and everyone joined in praying for him.

Featured testimonies: Emily Hoskin gave thanks for baby Mason and the fact that he is healthy even with his special needs; she is grateful she can trust the Lord for everything. Scott Hoskin expressed his gratitude for Emily, and also for the privilege of raising their two beautiful children in our church. Shannon Gonzalez spoke about going through a difficult trial, but when she prayed asking God to renew her joy like she had heard others testify about, almost immediately the Lord filled her heart with joy. Jodie Hinkle said the Lord sometimes puts a “yes” in her heart even before an answer to prayer comes; recently she felt that "yes" to a small need and God miraculously answered her prayer. Dixie Bowlsby expressed praise to God for healing her of lung cancer and also for Christian fellowship.

First Special: Larry and Kaye Montgomery sang “I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About to Happen.”

Last Special: Barry Morgan sang “Day By Day.”

Sermon: Ryan Erdmann preached from Philippians 4:13, instructing that the best way to achieve spiritual success is through prayer and by being obedient to God’s will.
