Prelude: A brass ensemble played “Sweet Spirit,” and “Since Jesus Came into My Heart.” The choir then sang “When Morning Gilds the Skies.”

First Special: A men’s quartet sang “My Lord and I.”

Scripture Reading: Samuel Asaya (pictured above) read Revelation 3:1-6.

Last Special: The choir sang “Surely the Presence of the Lord.”

Sermon: After reading Revelation 3:6, John Musgrave gave instructions on how to remain watchful and awake spiritually, and to be full overcomers.

Friday Evening Youth Focus

The April youth focus began with a meal of beef stroganoff and salad, paired nicely with donuts for dessert. Following the meal, the young people split into two teams for a round of boys versus girls in “The Telephone Game.” Teams had to whisper phrases such as “Support bacteria; it’s the only culture some people have” a couple dozen times, trying to keep the phrase intact during transit. The 2018 West Coast Youth Challenge was held April 13-15 at a campsite near Sutherlin, Oregon.
