Sunday Evening Service
Prelude: The orchestra played “He the Pearly Gates Will Open” and “Feeling Mighty Fine.” Following this, the choir sang “Glorious City of God,” accompanied by the brass.
Featured Testimonies: Jennifer Worthington shared how the Lord saved her when she was eight years old, taking away her hatred for her brother and giving her love for her family. Amanda Friesen testified to a recent answer to prayer: God provided her with a job working with children at a Christian preschool, where she can teach them about Jesus. Rosie Lambert was thankful that at four years old, when she knew she had sinned, she prayed a simple, honest prayer and the Lord saved her. Dorothy Hanson told how she came to Portland as a young teen and was saved soon after – that was eighty years ago, and she said the peace of God is the most wonderful thing in all the world.
First Special: A mixed quartet (pictured above) sang “Every Day.”
Last Special: Randy Baltzell sang “Then Came Jesus.”
Sermon: John Musgrave preached from 1 Peter 2:5-8, urging his listeners to have their feet firmly planted on the Rock, Christ Jesus, to follow His instructions, and seek more of Him.
