Sunday Evening Service

Prelude: Janice Calhoun and Sungun Yune played a piano/organ duet of a medley of songs. The choir then sang “I’ll Fly Away” with Imelda Nedelcu as soloist.

Testimonies: Kaye Montgomery said that before she gave her life to God, she had been thinking about leaving her husband, but they were saved on the same night and God restored their love. She found happiness in the Lord and now they are celebrating fifty-two years of marriage! Ethel Hodson talked about how she was raised in a drunkard’s home where they only knew fear and violence, but God led that family to the Gospel and made a drastic change in their home, and she has been serving the Lord since 1948. Katrina Butler (pictured above) was saved at nineteen years old and is so thankful that Jesus is her best Friend and that even when she doesn’t know what to do, He is always there to lead and guide.

First Special: Jennifer Worthington and her mother, Kaye Montgomery, sang “His Love Is like a Rolling River.”

Last Special: Diana Lambert sang “I Believe.”

Sermon: Chet King read Proverbs 33:3 and spoke of principles of life that are unfailing—just as churning cream will produce butter, those who seek God diligently will find Him. Brother Chet also spoke of using a three-leg stool as a solid seat for milking a cow, making a comparison to the solid base of the three Christian experiences (salvation, sanctification, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost). If one of the three is missing, the result is instability—you need all three!
