Sunday Evening Service
Prelude: A Ewers family violin ensemble played “Jesus, Name Above All Names,” “All that Thrills My Soul,” and “Power in the Blood.”
Testimony: Julie Lucescu shared that although she had little understanding of the Gospel growing up, the Lord drew her to Himself when she was in high school. From there, He led her to a Christian husband, and later to this church where she was able to learn more about Him.
Special: Julie, Susie, and Angela Lucescu sang “No One Cared So Much.”
Testimony: Butch Carey (pictured above) spoke of how he came to Sunday school from the time he was seven. Although he didn’t get saved for some time, the Lord talked to his heart and at camp meeting in 1965 he finally surrendered to the Lord and was saved. He is thankful for the peace Jesus gave him, and that Jesus has been with him since then.
Special: Brother Butch sang “Beyond Understanding.”
Sermon: Tom Pricskett read from 1 Peter 1:6-9 for his text and pointed out to his listeners that there is a reason for the trials that come to the Christian. He explained that Jesus gives peace even in troubled times and says, “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
