Sunday Evening Service

Prelude: The orchestra played “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee” and “We Will Glorify.” A mixed quartet sang “We Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God.”

Testimonies: Don Scholz (pictured above) testified that he and his wife came to church the Sunday before Thanksgiving in 1976 with the purpose of getting saved, and God has given him over forty-one years of victory over sin. Lisa Butler said that she felt conviction for the first time when she was fourteen, and when she finally surrendered her life to Jesus, He gave her peace that she'd never experienced before. Verna King thanked God for being there in every trial, and expressed thanks for the prayers for her family during a recent difficult time. Emily Asaya said she was invited to an Apostolic Faith Church for a revival, where God wonderfully saved her soul.

First special: The choir sang “Blood-washed Band.”

Last special: Mimi Witham sang “Sin Will Take You Farther,” with guitar accompaniment.

Sermon: Wayne Butler, the pastor in Dallas, Oregon, read Isaiah 40:1-5 for his text, and encouraged the congregation to experience the glory of the Lord by being holy and seeking Him wholeheartedly.
