Sunday Evening Service

Prelude: Rachel Heintz and Denise Wilson played a flute duet of “Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken” and “When We All Get to Heaven.” To complete the prelude, Dan, Cheyenna, and Darla Hall sang “The Touch of the Master’s Hand,” accompanied by Jane Ewers on the violin.

Testimonies: Rachel Heintz (pictured above) expressed gratitude for being able to come to church where she finds great support and shelter. Candy Hall thanked everyone for their cards and support during the recent passing of her mother, and said she was thankful to be born into a Christian home and that there is no better way to live. Rosemary Worthington told of giving her heart to Jesus at the age of nine and said that just like ripples spreading from a small pebble tossed in a pond, there have been far-reaching effects of that decision, including seeing her granddaughter marry a wonderful Christian man the day before.

First special: The choir sang a medley of “Redeemed.”

Last special: Deborah Brenner sang “Lamb of God.”

Sermon: Using 2 Peter 1:4-8 for his text, Mark Worthington’s message was a lesson in Scriptural arithmetic, where he admonished his listeners not to subtract from the Word of God, nor to divide it, but encouraging them instead to multiply unto themselves mercy, peace, and love.
