Sunday Evening Service

Prelude: The orchestra played “What Wondrous Love Is This” and “Wonderful Grace of Jesus.” A vocal ensemble (pictured above) followed, singing “More Than Conquerors.”

Featured Testimonies: Bill McKibben was thankful that God changed his life almost forty-four years ago, when he was in high school. Rachel Boyce shared how the Lord saved her three years ago and she appreciates His mercy to a backslider. Amanda Friesen rejoiced that she was celebrating her spiritual birthday; the Lord saved her nine years ago today. Yemi Akinduro spoke of God’s healing power when she suffered from a knee injury after an accident in 2015. Howard Canning thanked God for saving him in 1992, when he attended a Gospel meeting and his son pushed his hand up when the minister asked who wanted prayer.

First Special: The choir, featuring a men’s quartet, sang “I Want to Know That You Know,” with orchestral accompaniment.

Last Special: The choir sang “Come to Me,” accompanied by the orchestra.

Sermon: LeRoy Tonning, the District Superintendent of Scandinavia and pastor of the church in Stavanger, Norway, used Isaiah 58:11 for his text, and encouraged his listeners to be willing to listen, learn, and follow God’s guidance.
