Sunday Evening Service
Prelude: A flute ensemble (pictured above) played “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah,” and “We’re Marching to Zion.” The octet then sang “Almighty.”
Featured Testimonies: Rosie Lambert shared how the Lord saved her at age four, later sanctified her and baptized her, and then at age thirty helped her to more fully consecrate to Him. Susie Lucescu was thankful for the wonderful gift of salvation, as well as many other blessings the Lord has given her. Jay Larrechea told how thirty years ago, at the age of fifteen, he had messed up his life doing drugs and drinking alcohol, but the Lord saved him and changed his life.
First Special: The choir sang “I’ll Take the Old Highway.”
Last Special: Caleb Copko sang “Take My Life, and Let it Be.”
Sermon: Using Ezra 3:10-11 for his text, Erik Calhoun compared the time of animal sacrifices with the access available now, through Jesus’ sacrifice, to receive salvation from sin.
Fellowship: After the service there were refreshments and a time for everyone to welcome the new senior pastor, Dave Lambert, and his family.
