Sunday Evening Youth Service
Prelude: The orchestra played “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and “Christ, the Solid Rock.” Then the choir sang “Hear the Call.”
Featured Testimonies: Josh Friesen said when he plays his trumpet in competitions or performances he usually gets really nervous, which has a bad effect on his playing. However, last weekend when he played in an important contest, the Lord really helped him do well. Julianne Luka shared that last summer she prayed because she felt she lacked courage to tell people about her faith, and this year at school she has found it so easy to tell others that she is a Christian. Mackenzie Ewers told how she had recently asked God to let her witness to people, and the next day in class they were talking about religion and she had many opportunities to talk about God. Elizabeth Buliga said the past week had been really hard and she had been feeling discouraged, but at the Sunday morning service she heard just what she needed and God met her at the altar. Hunter Cripps was thankful for the privilege to be a Sunday school teacher, and said it’s a blessing to be able to share the Gospel that way.
First Special: A vocal ensemble sang “Soul on Fire.”
Last Special: Shana Bishop sang “He’s Everything to Me.”
Sermon: Greg Bishop (pictured above), from Chehalis, Washington, used Luke 18:1-5 for his message, challenging the young people to carry the Gospel forward in holiness and through prayer.
