Thursday Evening Service

Prelude: A youth string quartet (pictured above) played “Wonderful Grace of Jesus” and “Concerto in E Minor,” followed by a ladies’ choir singing “Standin’ in the Need of Prayer.”

Testimonies: Gary Wolfe said God healed him fifty-nine years ago after he had been in and out of the hospital for a year, and God also brought him through another serious health problem last October. Becky Sha testified that during recent special meetings in Richmond, California, God healed her of depression, and she is thankful for a Christian husband to serve the Lord with. Austin Baltzell thanked God for helping him through the process of getting his commercial driver’s license. Richard Trotter said that when he returned home from active duty in the military in 1973, God began talking to his heart, and he prayed through to salvation in our church in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

First Special: A male quartet sang “John Saw.”

Last Special: Deborah Brenner sang “Whatever It Takes.”

Sermon: Jeff Downey, pastor of our church in Van Buren, Arkansas, read Hebrews 2:1-3 for his text, and encouraged the congregation to prepare for God’s escape plan by being saved, overcoming temptation, and being ready for the Rapture of the Church.
