Caribbean Camp Meeting Brings Joy

The Eastern Caribbean camp meeting was held Sunday through Friday, July 14-19. Following is a report of the week’s activities.

Delegates arrived from Barbados, St. Eustatius, St. John, St. Maarten, and Tortola to join the saints in Smith Bay, St. Thomas, for the camp meeting.

The brethren in Saint Michael, Barbados, held four days of special meetings beginning on Sunday, June 16, to commemorate forty years at the Tichbourne Road location. Michael Anthony, Eastern Caribbean District Superintendent, and his wife, Monica, were present for the anniversary celebration.

Envisioned Church a Reality on St. Maarten

This past Saturday, our team in the Caribbean traveled to St. Maarten in the Netherland Antilles for the dedication of the nearly completed Bishop Hill church.

Debbie and I are on the Island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. After uneventful red-eye flights, we arrived early Tuesday afternoon, March 12, along with Tim DeBusk, Director of Caribbean Work, and his wife, Lisa. Change of Leadership in the Dominican Republic

On Sunday, February 3, at the Dominican Republic Apostolic Faith headquarters church in La Romana, District Superintendent Gledwin Mills announced that he is retiring as leader of the Dominican Republic work, with Reverend Deivys Pichardo (pictured above, with his wife and three children) appointed to fill that role.

The Downeys have continued visiting our churches in St. Vincent, and traveled to Lowmans Hill, a short distance from Kingstown, for the Friday evening service on January 25. Established ninety years ago in 1928, this is the oldest church on the island, and is pastored by Martin Laborde.
