Road Town, Tortola, Celebrates 23 Years

Special meetings were held March 26-29 in the British Virgin Islands to celebrate the twenty-third anniversary of our church in Road Town, Tortola, where Shanon Lawrence is the pastor.

Brethren from neighboring churches attended in support including ministers Sylvina Thomas of our church in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, and Pearl Smith, pastor of our church in East End, Tortola.

Jamaicans Enthusiastic about the Gospel

A team of eight from the United States recently returned from Jamaica where they spent ten days visiting the saints among our churches there. Those who went were Mark Worthington (pastor in St. Louis, Missouri) with his wife, Rosemary, and family members Mikayla Worthington and Chris, Jillian, and Julianne Luka (all from Portland, Oregon). Deborah Brenner (also of Portland) and Esther Oyedokun (of Chicago, Illinois) joined as well.

God Blesses the Eastern Caribbean Camp Meeting

The choir sang “Praise Him! Praise Him!” as the Eastern Caribbean camp meeting began on Sunday, July 10, at the new headquarters church in Smith Bay, St. Thomas.

During the announcements, Michael Anthony, the Eastern Caribbean District Superintendent, noted that this was the first camp meeting to be held in St. Thomas in over thirty-two years—fulfilling a dream of the past leadership.

Youth Convention Concludes St. Vincent Trip

The Downeys continued to visit our St. Vincent churches this past week, and on Wednesday worshiped with the saints at our Greggs church. It was a special day for the pastor, Warrican James, who was celebrating his forty-second anniversary in the Gospel. A Beautiful New Church Anticipated on St. Maarten

The DeBusks arrived on Tuesday in Saint Maarten where we have three churches. They were greeted by the Eastern Caribbean District Superintendent, Michael Anthony, and his wife, Monica, along with the Haiti District Superintendent, Rolland Deler.

The next evening, they attended our Sucker Garden church on the Dutch side of the island. The pastor is Fecu Commandant, who recently succeeded Brother Rolland in that capacity.

Bob Downey, Director of North America Work, and his wife, Cheryl, left for the Caribbean on Friday, January 29, to spend a week among our churches on the island of Saint Vincent.
