Tromso Celebrates Ninety Years

The congregation in Tromso, Norway, celebrated their ninetieth anniversary with two days of special meetings held August 31 to September 1. Invitations were distributed prior to the event, and many visitors attended, including representatives from neighboring churches.

Debbie and I enjoyed being at in the Scandinavia camp meeting, which began on Wednesday, April 18, at the Ognatun campground in Norway. The schedule included morning prayer meetings and Bible teachings, afternoon Bible studies and youth activities, and evening church services.

Scandinavians Support the Appointment of Three

In anticipation of the Scandinavian camp meeting, which began on Thursday, April 18, prayer meetings were held at the Stavanger church on Monday and Tuesday, and a congregational business meeting was held on Wednesday.

During the business meeting, it was brought out that the board of trustees for the Scandinavia work had met on Saturday and was now recommending three people to be appointed to positions within the work.

The Scandinavian camp meeting is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 23, and several from the Portland headquarters church are expected to attend. This group includes Ed Habre who will be the guest preacher, and his wife, Kim. They arrived in Stavanger, Norway, this past Friday and were welcomed by LeRoy Tonning, the district superintendent, and his wife, Vigdis.
