India Congregation Outgrows Church Building

From the Superintendent's DESK

The family visiting India from Portland attended several more services among our congregations in India this past weekend.

On Friday, they worshiped with the saints at Yanam and were pleased to see that the church was full, though it was a holiday. Sister Deanna said God’s blessing was upon the service. God’s blessing has also been over the pastor and his wife, Raco and Joythi Ratnam, who recently welcomed a baby boy into their family. His name is John Wesley, and he joins older sisters Lisa and Rachael.

In the evening, they visited our church in Nadimpalem. Sister Deanna said they enjoyed a beautiful service in which many testified to miraculous answers to prayer. Afterward, the pastor, S. Yesu Ratnam, and his wife, Mary, hosted them for dinner.

On Saturday, the family from Portland attended a service in Pedapudi. Many were unable to attend, yet the church was very full. It was clear that a larger building is needed to accommodate the growing congregation. Sister Deanna said there is a piece of property for sale across the street from the church, and the congregation has been praying God will provide the funds to purchase it.

In the evening, Janie Burton of Grants Pass, Oregon, arrived in India. She plans to travel with Sister Deanna for the remainder of the month, as the Wolfes (Clark and Sumin, with their children, and Gary) are preparing to return home.

The group was in Indrapalem on Sunday morning. Sister Deanna said the service included many testimonies of victory, and a wonderful prayer meeting followed. Afterward, the pastor, Rayudu Daniel, was presented with a birthday cake for his sixty-sixth birthday. The cake was large enough for everyone to have a slice. Brother Daniel was very surprised and asked for prayer that he has many more years to win souls for Jesus.
