India Saints Joyously Welcome the New Year

From the Superintendent's DESK

Our churches in the Andhra Pradesh region of India welcomed the New Year by holding a watchnight service at the headquarters location in Kaikavolu. About 225 were in attendance including a family visiting from Portland: Bob and Deanna Moen, along with their son, Rob, and his seven-year-old son, Charlie. They said the service was a joyous occasion with singing, testimonies, a message from the Word of God, and prayer. In addition, shawls were presented to the elderly saints.

As the testimonies went forth, many wanted to give thanks to the Lord for what He is doing in their lives, including the visitors from the states who also testified. Later, Charlie had opportunity to further participate in the service by playing “Silent Night” on the piano. The service concluded with time spent praying out the old year and praying in the new.

Another service was held on New Year’s Day with a message focused on being servants of God. Sister Deanna said a beautiful time of prayer followed, and then everyone enjoyed a feast which was prepared using ingredients brought by the congregation.

The Moens are enjoying their time in India and plan to attend several more services at our different locations.
