Southern Africa Camp Meeting 2018

The theme of the Southern Africa camp meeting held in Botswana, Gaborone, on July 15-22 was “The End of All Creations,” focusing on the soon return on Jesus Christ. During the week prior, revival services were held each night, with two teams distributing flyers inviting people to the revival and subsequent camp meeting.

The message during the opening service was given by Lordick Motshidisi, District Superintendent of Botswana, and was titled “Eternal Heaven and Eternal Hell.” During the youth service, Mutavatsindi Chitanda preached a message titled “Determination,” using the example of Ruth, who purposed to worship the true God even though her future was uncertain. The topic of the evening sermon was “Sin Will Kill You,” with the preacher emphasizing that only Jesus can eradicate sin and change hearts.

In the following days, there were four Bible teachings and two youth services. Some of the topics were “Christian Forgiveness,” “Baptism of the Holy Ghost,” God’s Financial Plan,” The Rapture of the Church,” and “Jesus, the Light of the World.” The final sermon reminded the congregation that they are strangers and pilgrims in this world, and that their focus needs to be on Heaven, their eternal home.

Around sixty-four delegates attended from various parts of Africa, including Namibia, South Africa, Angola, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Malawi. The peak attendance was 337 people. Fourteen people were saved, and twelve were baptized in water. Although the weather was colder than usual, God warmed everyone with His presence. It was a wonderful camp meeting, with many blessings received.
