|
| To
receive forgiveness for sins. |
To avoid eternal
death and have the promise of eternal life in
Heaven to look forward to. |
To bring spiritual
life. |
|
| To
make your heart pure and holy by removing the
inward tendency toward sin. |
To set you
apart as belonging to God. |
|
| To
make you a powerful and more effective servant
of God. |
To be in tune
to the direct leading of the Holy Spirit. |
|
|
|
| Admit
that you have sinned and need God's help. |
Be truly sorry
for the sins you have committed, and ask God to
forgive you. |
Determine
that with God's help you are going to turn away
from all sin. |
Believe that
Jesus died for you, and that He will hear your
prayer and save you. |
| |
|
| You
must be saved before seeking sanctification. |
God wants
a complete submission of your soul, mind, body,
and spirit. Ask Him to accept the offering of
your life and service. |
Separate yourself
from the world and determine to shun every appearance
of evil. Set yourself apart to serve God. |
Ask God to
cleanse your heart and make you holy—
to sanctify you. |
|
| You
must be saved and sanctified before seeking for
the baptism of the Holy Ghost. |
| Recognize
that there is a great need in your life for God's
power. |
| Sincere prayer
and consecration are necessary to receive this
gift. |
| Praise God
for what He has done for you. Rather than just
asking over and over, focus on rejoicing in Him!

| Like
dumping dirt out of a vase. |
Like chopping
off a weed in the garden. |
|
| Like
washing the vase to make it spotless. |
Like removing
the root of a weed. |
|
| Like
pure, clean water filling the clean vase. |
Like aligning
two pipes (one being your life, and the other
God's will) so the Holy Spirit can flow freely
into and through you. |

| God's
Spirit lets you know in your heart that you are
a child of God, and that you have been saved. |
You feel peaceful
inside; a new joy comes into your heart. |
You see immediate
changes in your life. Sinful habits disappear
and even your desires change. |
|
| God
lets you know in your heart that you have been
sanctified. There is a great joy and a deep feeling
of purity and cleansing. |
The nature
of sin is removed. This is more than just a good
prayer meeting. |
You will have
a deeper desire to guard your heart from the sinful
things of the world. |
Your desire
and motive will be to always please God. |
|
| When
the “filling” of God's Spirit takes place, the
outward evidence will be that of speaking in tongues.
This is speaking in a real language you never
learned. It is not gibberish, talking quickly,
saying repetitive phrases, or simply making noises,
but speaking an actual language sent by the Holy
Spirit. |

| Sin
is not a part of a Christian's life. With God's
help, you can live without sinning. |
| You want to apologize for and
make right any wrong deeds in your past whenever
that is possible. |
| Just as a newborn baby is hungry,
you are spiritually hungry. You want to read your
Bible, pray, and attend church. |
| You want to draw closer to God
and to safeguard this joyful experience. To do so,
begin to seek to be sanctified. |
|
| It
is easier to live a joyous, victorious Christian
life. |
| You will still have temptation
and trials come at you from outside, but the struggle
from the inside is gone because the inward tendency
toward sin is gone. |
| Continue to grow and mature
in your walk with God and seek to be baptized with
the Holy Ghost. |
|
| God's
Spirit is within you. He is a source of power
that gives you guidance, comfort, instruction,
and a desire to share the Gospel. |
| Once you have received
the baptism of the Holy Ghost, there are many additional
learning experiences and blessings still ahead for
you. Continue to seek God. Ask Him to help you to
learn and grow in your Christian life. |
