Special meetings in Port Angeles, Washington, began on Friday evening, November 8, at 8:00 p.m. The orchestra played “Fairest Lord Jesus” and “How Majestic Is Your Name,” followed by the choir singing “Revive Us, Oh Lord,” which was the theme for the weekend. Florin Baros led the congregational singing and Wayne Butler welcomed everyone to the start of special meetings. Josiah and Marilyn Lere-Adams, from Pullman, Washington, sang a duet, and Paula Jordan, from Grants Pass, Oregon, opened the testimony service. Before the sermon, Angela Lucescu, from Portland, Oregon, sang a vocal solo. The Spirit of the Lord fell, and many were wiping tears as God’s Spirit witnessed to hearts. John Jordan, from Grants Pass, gave a message on “When the Lord passes by.” Refreshments were offered at the conclusion of the service. Although the service ended, the prayer meeting continued with young people still praying and seeking the Lord after 11:30 p.m.
The Saturday morning devotional began with prayer, followed by a number from a brass ensemble. Jamie Sifagaloa led congregational singing with a guitar ensemble. Aaron Hoskin, from Portland, sang the last special and Roth Mom, also from Portland, gave the devotional on “God’s plan for each life.” A Hawaiian barbecue was provided for lunch and there was wonderful fellowship.
Saturday evening was a youth meeting that began with the orchestra playing “Mighty to Save” and the choir singing “Is He Worthy?” Following congregational singing, a men’s group sang the first special. Before a ladies’ trio sang the last special, each one shared her individual testimony. Alex Wilson, of Seattle, Washington, preached on “Coming near to God,” which was followed by an amazing prayer service.
The final service of special meetings was on Sunday morning. The orchestra opened with “Blessed Be the Name of the Lord,” followed by the choir singing “I Speak Jesus.” Braxton and Iudita Trotter, from Chehalis, Washington, sang the first special. After Brother Wayne concluded announcements, Ryan Trotter, from Chehalis, gave the Scripture reading from Revelation 22:1-14. Before Brother John brought the message, Taiwoo Park, from Seattle, sang the last special. Brother John spoke about the need for young people to have the fire of the Lord.
Throughout every service, the Spirit of the Lord could be felt on the sermons, the music, and the testimonies. Even though Port Angeles is a small town, there was a big revival, with beautiful services and powerful prayer meetings.
