On Sunday, September 15, the congregation gathered in the Fellowship Lodge following the morning service for a delicious meal that was cooked flawlessly and served by wonderful volunteers.

Congregation members and guests enjoyed fried fish and chips with coleslaw, minted smashed peas, and wonderful sauces for dipping. It was like taking a quick afternoon trip across the Atlantic for a United Kingdom lunch. The Lodge was filled with beautifully decorated tables and a celebratory atmosphere, welcoming autumn into Portland, Oregon. There was even a delectable slab pie dessert after guests finished their meals, with a variety of flavors including lemon, key lime, pumpkin, and chocolate cream. The faithful and talented team of cooks did an amazing job, as usual.

The event was popular and so well attended that the line extended all the way to the tabernacle, and those waiting outside enjoyed a cool autumn breeze. Kids also enjoyed the afternoon by playing outside on the lawn. The Lord blessed us with good weather and made it a pleasant day. Everyone appreciated chatting and catching up with friends and family. With many people back home after busy summers, schools having recently started, and college students anticipating a last few days before classes resume, the time of fellowship was much appreciated.
