2024 Youth Fall Harvest Party

The much-anticipated Youth Fall Harvest Party began November 16, with a delicious dinner of Ritz chicken, mashed potatoes, string green beans, corn, and freshly baked rolls. To top off the festive meal and lively fellowship, everyone enjoyed an ice cream sundae for dessert. After the tables were cleared, the youth were divided into two groups to participate in a series of games. Youth Leader Erik Calhoun announced that each team would send volunteers to the front for quick one-minute competitions. Members of each group enthusiastically cheered for one another as individuals carefully stacked apples in one activity, went to work stacking pennies in another, and even engaged in speed stacking plastic cups. Once the competitions concluded, Jonah Chasteen led a collaborative game in which everyone worked together to form different shapes. The young people raced around the Lodge to find partners to create rectangles, triangles, and circles. The groups were then divided again, and Samuel Oni introduced and led an ABC song game, where the teams took turns singing songs in alphabetical order, starting with "Amazing Grace" for “A,” all the way to "Zacchaeus Was a Wee Little Man" for “Z.”  Once again, the youth arranged their chairs facing the front for a few final songs led by Caleb Copko and friends. The activity-filled night drew to a close and was dismissed in prayer by Ryan Erdmann and warm Thanksgiving wishes from Brother Erik.
